Position Responsibilities
Support surgical admissions, client communication, medical record accuracy, and discharge coordination
Prepare patients for anesthesia, including pre-op diagnostics, bloodwork, and radiographs
Induce, maintain, monitor, and recover anesthesia; perform accurate drug and CRI calculations
Set up and break down operating rooms, ensuring cleanliness and organization
Act as scrub nurse and maintain strict aseptic technique during procedures
Circulate in the OR, anticipate surgeon needs, and aseptically open instruments/supplies
Clip, prep, position, and connect patients to monitoring equipment for surgery
Maintain, clean, wrap, sterilize, and organize surgical instruments and equipment
Handle, prepare, and submit histopathology and microbiology samples
Support emergency transfers, hospitalized patients, and provide clear communication across teams
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years working as a veterinary technician, preferably in surgical or emergency settings. High school diploma or equivalent required, LVT certification is prioritized.
- Have an understanding of all basic veterinary knowledge, including restraint, diagnostic imaging, phlebotomy, laboratory equipment and procedures, etc. with a strong understanding of anesthesia, patient monitoring, and aseptic technique, familiarity with surgical equipment cleaning, wrapping, and sterilization.
- Attention to detail, with strong communication skills with both clients and team members.
- Fluent English skills (speaking and reading) are required; fluency in multiple languages is a plus.
