Pacific Northwest Pet ER & Specialty Center is a modern, 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital based in Vancouver, Washington. Position Summary

Engage in receiving, shipping, unpacking, picking, staging, storage, verification, and monitoring of stock and non-stock items. Coordinates inventory needs and purchases at Pacific NW Pet ER & Specialty Center. Maintains a high standard of accuracy and interacts frequently with numerous vendors, doctors, and support staff. Must possess flexibility with regard to unexpected requests, taking priority over planned duties. The inventory manager will be responsible for overseeing inventory control, managing inventory levels, utilizing analytical skills to optimize inventory processes and ensuring effective communication with team members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Purchase medication and supplies for all departments within the hospital.
  • Review Doctors’ new inventory requests with the Medical Director and Hospital Director.
  • Receive and review supply requests from hospital staff.
  • Prioritize requests, place orders and distribute supplies.
  • Researches and analyzes product and pricing information; maintains low costs for supplies.
  • Maintains inventory data entry
  • Record and dispose of expired inventory supplies and drugs.
  • Create relationships with vendors and set up new accounts for ordering.
  • Establish relationships with local hospitals in order to fill our weekend and after-hours needs.
  • Organization of the ICU and other departments for permanent homes for supplies.
  • Work in conjunction with the Hospital Director on the following budget guidelines for hospital inventory.
  • Oversee quarterly inventory counts.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.
  • Clear understanding and enforcement of OSHA regulations and hospital safety.

Compensation:

This position has an initial hiring range of $26.00 to $30.00 per hour based on skillset and experience. We offer a competitive shift differential for team members working the hours of 6pm to 6am at $2.00 per hour for unlicensed team members and $4.00 per hour for licensed team members on top of base pay along with competitive benefits, including continuing education, staff pet discounts, incentives for professional development, health insurance, and 401k. We also offer a weekend differential that is an additional $2/hr for any work between 12 a.m. Saturday to 11:59 p.m. on Sunday.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, associate's degree and or related experience/equivalency preferred
  • Must possess a valid license as a Veterinary Technician or be board eligible.
  • Previous inventory or supply chain experience preferred
  • Experience in a veterinary of medical environment is required.
  • Familiarity with inventory or ordering software
  • Adapts positively to the ever-changing healthcare environment by supporting technology and process changes.
  • The ability to empathize with others and demonstrate a value-based work style is required.
  • Must possess excellet listening and interpersonal skills and problem-solving methods.
  • Must be able to work varying hours as required.
  • Must have basic computer skills including working knowledge of office software.
