Schedule: Full-Time | Four 9-hour shifts per week

Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital (VESH) in West Springfield, MA is hiring an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency team. This full-time Veterinary Technician opportunity is ideal for a Vet Tech who enjoys fast-paced medicine, advanced cases, and hands-on patient care.

Compensation
- Non-Credentialed Veterinary Technicians: $20.00–$28.50/hour
- Credentialed Veterinary Technicians (CVT/RVT/LVT): $24.00–$29.50/hour
- VTS compensation considered based on experience and credentials
- Swing Shift (4:00pm–11:59pm): +$2.00/hour
- Overnight Shift (6:00pm–6:00am): +$2.50/hour

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician at Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital (VESH), you’ll play a critical role in patient care while working alongside a collaborative ER and specialty team.
- Triage and assess incoming emergency patients
- Assist veterinarians with diagnostics, treatments, and emergency procedures
- Monitor anesthesia and sedation
- Perform laboratory testing including bloodwork, urinalysis, and cytology
- Administer medications and treatments as directed
- Monitor hospitalized patients and communicate changes to the medical team
- Deliver compassionate client communication during urgent and emotional situations
- Maintain accurate medical records and support efficient workflow throughout the hospital
- Collaborate closely with technicians, assistants, CSRs, and DVMs across departments
- Veterinary Technician experience required; emergency or critical care experience strongly preferred
- CVT/RVT/LVT preferred, but experienced non-credentialed technicians are encouraged to apply
- Strong technical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and efficient in a fast-paced emergency environment
- Passion for teamwork, patient care, and delivering exceptional client service
- Ability to lift, restrain, and care for patients of varying sizes
- Fluent English speaking and reading skills required
We are a 24-hour, VECCS Level 2 Certified, state-of-the-art Emergency + Specialty veterinary hospital.
Like human medical specialists, VESH supports primary care veterinarians with the evaluation and treatment of pets affected by trauma, chronic issues, serious illness, or unusual disorders requiring advanced training, while also providing critical and emergency veterinary care.
We offer a variety of specialty services including Advanced Imaging (CT), Internal Medicine, Surgery, Medical Oncology, and Emergency and Critical Care.
