VESH is hiring a Veterinary Receptionist to join our Emergency & Specialty team. In this role, you’ll be the first point of contact for clients entering our hospital—helping create a calm, welcoming, and supportive experience during urgent and emotional moments. Compensation

  • $20–$25/hour based on experience and skills
  • Shift Differential: +$2/hour for shifts worked between 4:00pm–12:00am
Schedule
  • Four 9-hour shifts per week

Responsibilities
As a Veterinary Receptionist, you’ll help guide clients through every step of their visit while supporting communication between medical teams and hospital operations.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Welcome clients and pets with warmth, professionalism, and confidence
  • Serve as the first point of contact for incoming calls, walk-ins, and hospital inquiries
  • Gather accurate client and patient information during intake
  • Support the client journey from check-in through invoicing and discharge communication
  • Help clients understand estimates, charges, and next steps in their pet’s care
  • Coordinate triage for walk-in patients by communicating with nursing staff for evaluations
  • Relay information between clients, doctors, technicians, and hospital leadership
  • Manage RDVM calls, faxes, and referral communication
  • Support front desk operations including financial transactions and medical record management
  • Maintain a calm, organized reception environment while prioritizing an exceptional client experience
Qualifications
We’re looking for someone who brings strong customer service skills, excellent communication, and genuine compassion to every interaction.
Qualifications:
  • Previous receptionist, customer service, or client-facing experience required
  • Veterinary, emergency hospital, or medical office experience strongly preferred
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain information clearly and compassionately
  • Ability to remain calm and confident in a fast-paced or emotionally charged environment
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable multitasking and prioritizing responsibilities throughout a busy shift
  • Strong relationship-building skills with clients, teammates, and referring veterinary partners
  • Fluent English speaking and reading skills required

We are a 24-hour, VECCS Level 2 Certified, state-of-the-art Emergency + Specialty veterinary hospital.


Like human medical specialists, VESH supports primary care veterinarians with the evaluation and treatment of pets affected by trauma, chronic issues, serious illness, or unusual disorders requiring advanced training, while also providing critical and emergency veterinary care.
