Our subject matter experts across the network and aggregated pet patient data provide qualitative/quantitative insight and critical guidance in the field of veterinary health, allowing for more informed decisions to be made around the prioritization of research questions and innovation development pathways.
Compensation range: $70,000 - 90,000/yr, commensurate with experience plus a comprehensive benefits package including paid time off, holidays, and a 401k match. We also offer opportunities for continuing education and business training for our Clinical Trial team. Please note that this role may require occasional travel, estimated at 5-8%.
Job Description
The Clinical and Market Research Specialist will manage the launch and conduct of sponsored clinical trials within Ethos hospitals, ensuring strong patient accrual and high-quality data capture. Additionally, this role will involve conducting market consultancy research to support the strategic goals of the Veterinary Science Consultancy (VSC) and its veterinary healthcare industry clients.
Responsibilities:
Clinical Trial Management:
- Project management for VSC clinical trials to ensure timely delivery of high-quality research and data.
- Generation, review and proof of trial documents including patient data capture forms, study procedures, and other related documents
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of assigned VSC clinical trials.
- Assist in generating clinical trial training materials and provide training to Ethos hospitals.
- Assist in the generation of clinical trial marketing and advertisements.
- Stay in regular contact with all hospitals participating in VSC clinical trials to follow their progress and provide support as needed as a virtual trial monitor.
- Act as a point of contact for Ethos hospitals to field study-related questions and troubleshooting.
- Provide support to potential clients interested in enrolling their pets in research.
- Familiarize with the VSC electronic data capture program at an administrator level and monitor data entry to maintain high-quality data capture.
- Attend weekly Science meetings, manage minutes, and follow up.
- Organize and store VSC legal and medical documents for record keeping and accessibility.
- Assist in tracking trials and general VSC financial obligations.
Market Consultancy Research:
- Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape in the veterinary healthcare industry.
- Analyze aggregated patient data to provide insights and recommendations for strategic planning.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the industry.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations on market research findings.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to integrate market research insights into clinical trial marketing strategies.
- Stay updated on industry developments and emerging trends to inform consultancy services.
Education, License, and Job Requirements:
- Associate’s degree in veterinary technology or sciences ideal
- Prior experience in a Veterinary hospital clinical setting, within the Spec+ER space highly preferred. Credentialed Techs ideal, also open to those from the Human healthcare/industry or Biosciences.
- Training and experience as a small animal veterinary technician will be prioritized, particularly veterinary technician specialists (VTS) in small animal medicine or emergency and critical care
- Experience with electronic medical record systems and electronic data capture preferred.
Skills and Experience:
- Experience in clinical trial management and veterinary research preferred, but not required
- Experience with inventory management preferred, but not required
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the market forces in veterinary medicine driving veterinary and client preferences for products is preferred.
- The ability to build and foster positive relationships at all levels, including with veterinary teams and industry partners.
- Strong communication skills (oral and written) with the ability to energize and engage diverse audiences.
- Self-motivated, proactive, organized, and able to independently handle multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including advanced Excel skills.
- Familiarity with the application of artificial intelligence tools for assistance in daily workflows and task management.
- Proficiency with Smartsheet's and PowerBI is preferred.
