Veterinary Specialty Hospital – North County (VSHNC) is seeking a Radiology Assistant to join our 24/7 Emergency & Specialty Hospital in San Marcos, California. This position supports advanced diagnostic imaging services and collaborates closely with board-certified specialists, veterinarians, and nursing staff to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced specialty environment.

Essential Responsibilities
- Assist with diagnostic imaging procedures, including radiography and advanced imaging support
- Safely handle, position, and restrain patients for imaging studies
- Prepare imaging rooms, equipment, and patients according to hospital protocols
- Maintain radiation safety standards and compliance
- Communicate effectively with veterinarians, specialists, and nursing teams
- Ensure accurate patient identification and documentation
- Support workflow efficiency within the imaging department
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant imaging environment
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a Veterinary Assistant preferred
- Interest or experience in diagnostic imaging and radiology strongly preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, specialty hospital environment
- Strong attention to detail and patient safety
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to lift and restrain patients as required
- Willingness to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed
Compensation
- Veterinary Assistant pay range: $16.30 – $26.00 per hour
. Compensation is based on education, experience, credentialing, and shift differentials.
