Primary Responsibilities:  

  • Maintain awareness of hospital policies and protocols. Self-manage training progression by remaining up to date with presented training materials. Educate and train others whenever the opportunity presents itself and as directed. 

  • Complete MRI and CT imaging as ordered by Pac NW’s clinicians.  

  • Demonstrate general understanding of gross abnormalities in advanced imaging.  

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of the imaging equipment and basic troubleshooting ability.  Call for maintenance assistance when necessary. 

  • Assist with keeping accurate medical records in accordance with hospital policy.  

  • Assist in other departments when imaging responsibilities are finished. 

  • Show initiative and commitment to continued education and professional development.  

  • Ability to communicate and coordinate scheduling with the imaging department respectfully with other departments. 

  • Ability to triage procedures based on patient need and communicate any changes as needed with the involved departments 

  • Safely monitor patients under sedation and record vitals in accordance with hospital policy 

  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace and ensure all areas of the space are fully stocked. 

  • Monitor radiology email and upload results/notify the attending doctor when results are in. 

  • Ability to confidently submit diagnostic imaging for radiology read out via multiple platforms. 

  • Be proficient in the acquisition of radiographs, including positioning and technique, and assist with procedures such as endoscopy, fluoroscopy, CT, and MRI (must be able to be in the presence of MRI) 

  • Document legibly and keep accurate medical records in accordance with hospital policy.   

  • All employees are required to participate in the on-call rotation as needed. Shifts are subject to revisions and changes at the discretion of the hospital. 

  • All employees will be scheduled and expected to work rotating holiday shifts in the emergency and critical care department. 

  • Clear understanding and enforcement of OSHA regulations and hospital safety standards. 

  • Performs other job duties as assigned to support the ongoing operations of the hospital.  

COMPENSATION:

This position has an initial hiring range of $18.00 to $24.00 per hour based on skillset and experience. We offer a competitive shift differential for team members working the hours of 6pm to 6am at $2.00 per hour on top of base pay along with competitive benefits, including continuing education, staff pet discounts, incentives for professional development, health insurance, and 401k.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. 

  • 1 year of veterinary experience required. Imaging preferred. 

  • Excellent communications skills. 

  • Strong work ethic, initiative, and ability to exercise good judgement. 

  • Capacity to multi-task with attention to detail 

  •  Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.  

  • Must be able to safely work in the presence of MRI, with appropriate training. 

  • Excellent communication skills. Strong work ethic and a positive attitude. 

  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to new situations. 

  • Ability to act as a team player. 

  • Must be able to obtain a WA state med clerk license upon hire and keep up to date.
