Veterinary Assistant, Emergency Department - Animal Emergency & Specialty Center

$22.00–$29.00/hr + Shift Differential for Overnight Shifts + Double-Time for Call-In and Holidays

Full-time or Part-time opportunity in Poulsbo, WA

Schedule: Hospital is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Open shifts include Saturday and Sunday mid-day shifts, weekday and weekend swing shifts, plus Friday and Saturday overnights. A Part-Time position has the potential to become a Full-Time position in the coming months.

In your day-to-day, you will:

  • Apply knowledge of basic veterinary procedures and terminology
  • Obtain detailed patient histories, and provide excellent patient care and monitoring
  • Perform proficient venipuncture
  • Multitask well and think critically in a fast-paced environment
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with team members and clients
  • Remain composed during stressful and emotional situations
  • Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams
  • Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture

What You Bring

  • Veterinary assistant experience, including knowledge of basic veterinary procedures and terminology
  • Proficient venipuncture skills
  • Ability to multitask well and think critically on your feet
  • Strong time management and the ability to remain composed during stressful and emotional situations
  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care, with clear and effective communication skills
