Port City Veterinary Referral Hospital is seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Veterinary Technician to join our Radiation Oncology team in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

Compensation

  • $20–$35/hour based on licensure, experience, and skills assessment
Schedule
  • Four 9–10 hour shifts per week

Responsibilities
As a Radiation Oncology Veterinary Technician, you will play an important role in supporting patients through advanced treatments and delivering compassionate care to clients throughout their visit.
Responsibilities include:
  • Partner closely with our board-certified Radiation Oncologist and anesthesiology team to provide exceptional patient care
  • Guide clients and patients through appointments, treatments, and follow-up visits with professionalism and compassion
  • Assist with patient assessments, diagnostics, and treatment planning
  • Monitor anesthesia and sedation for procedures and treatments
  • Support radiation therapy protocols including SRT, IMRT, VMAT, IGRT, and palliative radiation therapies
  • Advocate for patient comfort, safety, and wellbeing throughout hospitalization and treatment
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
  • Provide clear communication and education to clients in person and by phone
  • Collaborate with specialists and hospital teams to ensure seamless patient care
Individualized onboarding and training are provided to support your success and continued technical development in radiation oncology.

Qualifications
  • Certified, Licensed, or Credentialed Veterinary Technician in good standing (CVT, RVT, or LVT)
  • Veterinary Technician Specialty (VTS) certification is a plus
  • Students currently enrolled in an accredited veterinary technology program and actively pursuing credentialing are encouraged to apply
  • 1–3 years of experience working as a Veterinary Technician in a clinical hospital setting preferred
  • Strong technical skills in patient care, anesthesia monitoring, and veterinary nursing procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Proficiency in medical recordkeeping and documentation
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced veterinary environment
  • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Passion for collaboration, learning, and professional growth in veterinary medicine
  • Fluent English speaking and reading skills required
