Veterinary Technician, Neurology

About the job: As a Technician in the Neurology department, you will be responsible for:
- Partnering with DVMs in patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures for consultations and recheck appointments
- Performing sterile scrub and assisting doctors throughout surgical procedures
- Performing anesthetic monitoring including intubation/extubation of patients, monitoring patients, and troubleshooting machines
- Possessing a strong working knowledge of the equipment and materials used and their availability and applications as well as normal patient vitals for awake, sedated and anesthetized patients
- Advocating for the patient and providing exceptional comfort, diagnostic, surgical, and nursing care to all patients
- Obtaining and processing laboratory samples such as blood, urine, free fluid, and fine needle aspirates
- Utilizing different modalities of imaging for patient assessment
- Monday-Thursday 8:00 am - 6:00 pm
About You:
- RVT license preferred or equivalent experience
- Minimum 2 years of veterinary experience required with at least one year of experience in surgery and anesthesia
- Possess technical credibility related to veterinary medicine in surgery or neurology
- Must be proficient at adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing as well as computing rate, ratio and percent to accurately calculate volumes and rates of medications and other treatments
- Demonstrate analytic abilities to identify problems and analyze potential solutions by weighing relevance and accuracy of information
- Successful in working in a highly collaborative environment and committed to developing long term relationships with colleagues, clients and community
- Maintain a positive outlook and ability to work well in a busy environment
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to deliver exceptional client service
