Veterinary Emergency Referral Center (VERC) is seeking a full-time Veterinary Inventory Manager to join our Emergency Hospital in Pensacola, FL. Responsibilities
As the Veterinary Inventory Manager, you will oversee purchasing, inventory management, and supply chain operations to ensure our clinical teams have the equipment, medications, and supplies needed to provide outstanding emergency and specialty patient care.
Responsibilities include:
Manage purchasing and inventory for pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, equipment, and hospital inventory
Develop inventory strategies that support patient care while maximizing efficiency and controlling costs
Monitor inventory trends, forecast demand, and maintain appropriate stock levels
Coordinate ordering, receiving, stocking, and organization of hospital inventory
Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors while negotiating cost-effective purchasing solutions
Maintain inventory management systems and optimize inventory workflows
Partner with hospital leadership and department teams to anticipate inventory needs
Monitor medications, controlled substances, equipment, and supplies to ensure availability and regulatory compliance
Support OSHA, DEA, and hospital inventory compliance initiatives
Train team members on inventory procedures and best practices
Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce waste, and increase operational efficiency
Respond proactively to supply chain disruptions by identifying alternative solutions that minimize impact on patient care
Qualifications
Previous inventory management, purchasing, or supply chain experience required
Veterinary or healthcare inventory management experience strongly preferred
Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, or RVT) is a plus but not required
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
Excellent communication, vendor management, and relationship-building skills
Experience with inventory management software and Microsoft Office applications
Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced veterinary hospital environment
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Fluent English speaking and reading skills required
