Bulger Veterinary Hospital is hiring a full-time Assistant Veterinary Technician Supervisor to support our General Practice team in Lawrence, Massachusetts. This is an opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Technician to take the next step into leadership while continuing to provide hands-on patient care.
This role is ideal for a CVT, RVT, or LVT who enjoys mentoring Veterinary Technicians, supporting daily hospital operations, and helping create a positive team environment. The position is approximately 90% clinical and 10% leadership/administrative support.

Compensation
- $28–$32/hr, based on experience
- Overnight differential: Base + $5/hr for hours worked between 11:00pm–6:00am

Schedule- Full-time; Four 9-hour shifts
- Scheduled between 7:00am–9:00pm
- Combination of weekday, evening, and rotating weekend coverage based on department needs
Veterinary Technician Supervisor ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Support- Partner with the Clinical Supervisor to support daily operations of the General Practice department
- Assist with staffing coordination and daily workflow management to support patient and client needs
- Mentor Veterinary Technicians and assistants through training, onboarding, and skill development
- Support performance conversations, coaching, monthly one-on-ones, and team development initiatives
- Collaborate with doctors and hospital leadership to maintain an efficient, positive work environment
- Help maintain equipment, inventory, and treatment areas to ensure the team has the resources needed to provide excellent care
- Troubleshoot workflow challenges and help create solutions in real time while maintaining a strong floor presence
Clinical Veterinary Technician Responsibilities- Provide hands-on nursing care to General Practice patients throughout their visit
- Triage patients and support efficient patient flow
- Administer vaccines and medications
- Perform phlebotomy and laboratory sample collection/processing
- Assist veterinarians with dentistry procedures, spays, neuters, and other surgical procedures
- Monitor anesthesia and recovery patients
- Support diagnostics including imaging, laboratory equipment, and patient monitoring
- Deliver compassionate patient care and exceptional client communication
Qualifications- Minimum 3+ years of Veterinary Technician experience in General Practice or similar clinical setting
- CVT, RVT, or LVT preferred, but not required depending on experience
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong technical veterinary skills including anesthesia monitoring, venipuncture, patient restraint, and surgical support
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced veterinary hospital environment
- Passion for mentorship, teamwork, and patient care
- Fluent in English (written and verbal)
