Veterinary Receptionist | $20–$22/hour
Location: Toronto, ON
Schedule: Full-Time | 4 x 10-hour overnight shifts | Weekend rotation
Compensation: $20–$22/hour + $3/hour overnight premium (7pm–7am) + $2/hour weekend premium (7am–7pm)


Central Toronto Veterinary Referral & Emergency Clinic (CTVRC/EC) is hiring a full-time Veterinary Receptionist in Toronto, ON. In this role, you’ll support our specialty and emergency teams while providing responsive, compassionate service to clients and referring veterinary hospitals.

Compensation
  • $20–$22/hour based on advanced knowledge and experience
  • $3/hour overnight premium for hours worked from 7pm–7am
  • $2/hour weekend premium for hours worked from 7am–7pm

Responsibilities
As a Veterinary Receptionist, you’ll support the client experience while helping our specialty and emergency teams stay organized and responsive throughout the overnight shift.
  • Greet clients and provide a welcoming, professional first impression
  • Coordinate client check-ins and schedule appointments
  • Answer and direct calls using a multi-line phone system
  • Prepare forms, certificates, and other client documentation
  • File, retrieve, and accurately maintain client and patient medical records
  • Perform basic invoicing, billing, payment, and account procedures
  • Communicate with referring veterinary hospitals to request medical records and necessary patient information
  • Accurately update and maintain client and patient information
  • Maintain a clean and organized reception area
  • Support clients with professionalism and compassion during stressful or unexpected situations
  • Collaborate with the Emergency, Specialty, and Client Service teams to support an efficient hospital experience
Qualifications
  • Previous customer service experience preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable multitasking and adjusting priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate recordkeeping
  • Comfortable working overnight shifts and participating in a weekend rotation
  • Fluent English speaking and reading skills required
