
The Animal Medical Center of Seattle, WA is hiring an experienced, compassionate, and motivated Training Specialist to join our team to help us maintain the high standards of patient care and foster ongoing professional development.

Compensation:
- $40.00 - 45.00 per Hour. Compensation is based on experience and skill level.

Position Summary:
The Training Specialist will play a vital role in ensuring that our nursing staff is trained and prepared to provide top-tier patient care. Working closely with the Emergency and Critical Care Specialist, ER/ICU Supervisor, and Hospital Manager, you will be responsible for providing training, mentorship, and guidance to the nursing staff. This role also involves reviewing, updating, and creating protocols to keep our practices aligned with current medical advancements. The Training Specialist will work with staff to implement these protocols and ensure the smooth onboarding and ongoing training of new and current employees.Key Responsibilities:- Staff Training & Mentorship: Teach and train nursing staff to establish and maintain high-quality standards of patient care.
- Protocol Development & Updates: Develop, maintain, and update nursing protocols to reflect the latest medical advancements and ensure consistent, high-quality care.
- Onboarding & Remedial Training: Coordinate and facilitate the onboarding process for new staff members and provide remedial training as necessary.
- Certification & Competency Tracking: Ensure veterinary technicians complete required certifications and maintain competency according to our Merit-Based Raise program.
- Externship Supervision: Coordinate and supervise veterinary nursing externs, ensuring timely completion of externship requirements.
- Continuing Education: Prepare and offer in-house CE opportunities and contribute to providing CE opportunities for the broader referral community.
- Critical Care Support: Teach critical care anesthesia techniques and provide support to the ER/ICU as needed, including triage and ICU care.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:- 5+ years of veterinary medical practice experience
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound, practical decisions
- Computer literacy with the ability to learn and utilize new veterinary software applications
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with coworkers, supervisors, and clients
- Strong writing skills for protocol development and training documentation
- Advanced medical math and nursing skills, including venipuncture, laboratory specimen processing, anesthesia, CPR, and critical care for critically ill patients
- Highly organized, with the ability to deliver exceptional client service
- Team-oriented, collaborative, and dedicated to building long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and the community
Education & Certification Requirements:- High school diploma or GED
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) in Washington State
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in critical care or emergency veterinary medicine
- Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) certification preferred but not required
- RECOVER Rescuer BLS/ALS certification required, with RECOVER Certified Instructor BLS/ALS within one year of hire
