Red Bank Veterinary Hospital (RBVH) now located in Red Bank, NJ, proudly opened its new, state-of-the-art facility in May 2024—an expansive, 100,000+ square foot space nearly twice the size of our original Tinton Falls location. Position Overview: The Veterinary Nursing Assistant (Float) will provide support across multiple clinical departments. This role is ideal for someone who is adaptable, works well independently, and enjoys a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.This position offers the opportunity to work alongside multiple specialties and emergency services while developing a broad range of veterinary nursing skills.
Compensation:
$17.75 - 23/hr. based on experience and accreditation.
Schedule:
Full Time (2 openings available)
Sunday – Wednesday
Wednesday – Saturday
8am – 6pm
Responsibilities:
Provide support to all clinical departments as needed.
Remain accessible and respond to requests for assistance throughout the hospital.
Assist with patient care, restraint, treatments, diagnostics, and radiographs.
Monitor Blood Bank appointments and assist with patient flow.
Perform basic laboratory duties, including running in-house tests and submitting samples.
Communicate effectively with clients, doctors, and hospital staff.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience working as a veterinary assistant in a veterinary hospital
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing departmental needs.
Experience handling a variety of patient species, including exotics, is a plus.
Basic computer and medical terminology knowledge required.
CVA (Certified Veterinary Assistant) preferred
Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus!
