Compensation:
  • $18-$22 hourly, based on experience and skills
Schedules Available:
  • Full Time
    • Monday - Friday
    • 7am – 4pm
General Overview:
As the Inventory Assistant, you'll play a key role in ensuring our hospital is fully stocked and running efficiently. You’ll help manage inventory levels, reduce waste, streamline processes, and ensure our teams always have the supplies they need to provide top-tier care. This position requires strong organizational skills, sharp attention to detail, and excellent communication.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Inventory Oversight: Support the Inventory Manager in managing both medical and non-medical supplies in alignment with established guidelines.

  • Stock Optimization: Develop and implement strategies to improve charge capture, reduce waste, prevent expirations, and maintain adequate stock levels.

  • Inventory Counts: Conduct daily inventory checks (excluding chemotherapeutic and controlled substances) and assist with quarterly counts, which may require occasional weekend hours.

  • Receiving & Auditing: Oversee inventory deliveries, audit received items against invoices, and promptly report discrepancies to the Inventory Manager.

  • Order Management: Pick up additional supplies as needed, submit receipts for reconciliation, and keep the order whiteboard up to date.

  • Stocking & Training: Ensure proper stocking of inventory throughout the hospital and help train paraprofessionals and new staff on stocking procedures.

  • Supply Adjustments: Monitor usage trends and collaborate with the Inventory Manager to adjust stock minimums based on demand.

  • Communication & Meetings: Participate in daily check-ins and bi-weekly/monthly meetings with the Inventory Manager to align on goals and improvements.

Secondary Responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain relationships with local hospitals to manage borrowed items and track invoice payments.

  • Keep Central Storage and supply cabinets throughout the hospital clean, organized, and clearly labeled.

  • Maintain a back-order log for vital inventory items and communicate status updates to staff.

  • Reorganize shelving and inventory systems as needed to improve space utilization and workflow.

  • Ensure all inventory policies are being followed; report any violations to the Inventory Manager.

  • Save and manage packing materials for lab samples, rabies submissions, and perishable items.

Future Goals for Inventory Assistant:
  • Gain experience and training in the handling and stocking of controlled substances

  • Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of inventory policies and workflows

  • Take on more leadership responsibilities as the department and hospital continue to expand

  • Previous experience in inventory, supply chain, or healthcare settings is helpful—but not required if you bring drive and a growth mindset

About you:
  • Inventory experience or a strong understanding of inventory management.
  • Veterinary experience is a strong plus.
  • A solid employment history with proven reliability.
  • The ability to work independently while being self-driven and eager to grow.
  • A proactive mindset, always looking for process improvements and opportunities for collaboration to streamline operations.
  • Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus!

We are a robust 24/7/365 multi-disciplinary veterinary facility that offers Emergency, Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Anesthesiology, Neurology, Oncology, Diagnostic Imaging and Cardiology services.
