Veterinary Technician, Emergency - LVT/RVT/CVT | $28–$35/hr Location: Yonkers, NY Schedule: Full-Time | Three 12-hour shifts per week | Days or Overnights available Compensation: $28–$35/hour + Weekend & Overnight Shift Differentials
Join Animal Specialty Center (ASC) as a full-time Emergency Veterinary Technician in Yonkers, NY. Our Veterinary Technicians work alongside experienced emergency doctors and board-certified specialists while providing advanced patient care in a collaborative specialty and emergency animal hospital.
Whether you are an experienced LVT, RVT, or CVT or looking to continue growing your ER and ICU skills, you’ll have the opportunity to expand your technical abilities, practice high-quality medicine, and make an impact every shift.
Compensation
$28 - $35/hr based on experience, credentials, and skills assessment
Weekend Differential (Saturday 12:00 AM – Sunday 11:59 PM):
LVTs: Base + $4/hr
Non-Licensed Team Members: Base + $2/hr
Overnight Differential (11:00 PM – 7:00 AM):
LVTs: Base + $6/hr
Non-Licensed Team Members: Base + $3/hr
Differentials stack, so if you’re working a Saturday overnight, you’re earning an extra $5–$10/hour on top of your base rate!

Schedule
Three 12-hour shifts per week

Responsibilities
Perform venipuncture and IV catheter placement
Triage emergency patients and obtain vital signs
Provide nursing care and monitoring for hospitalized patients
Assist with anesthesia, surgical preparation, and patient recovery
Perform in-house laboratory testing and utilize Cubex systems
Administer oral and injectable medications
Fill and dispense prescriptions
Obtain diagnostic radiographs
Monitor ECGs and critical patients
Educate clients regarding patient care and treatment plans
Participate in advanced nursing procedures including:
Central line placement assistance
Urinary catheter placement
Nasogastric tube placement
Nasal cannula placement
Maintenance of chest tubes and feeding tubes
Blood transfusion support
Utilize critical thinking skills in a fast-paced emergency and ICU environment
Participate in RECOVER CPR training and advanced life-saving procedures
Qualifications
Active CVT, LVT, or RVT credential (or eligibility for licensure) in New York State
Experience in emergency, critical care, or high-volume veterinary medicine preferred
Strong technical skills including venipuncture, patient monitoring, radiology, and laboratory procedures
Confidence providing inpatient nursing care for hospitalized patients
Excellent client communication and client education skills
Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced hospital environment
Positive attitude and commitment to maintaining a supportive team culture
Self-motivated, dependable, and willing to contribute across hospital departments
Fluent English speaking and reading skills required
