Schedule: Wednesday–Friday | 7:00 PM–7:00 AM | Three 12-hour overnight shifts

In Your Day-to-Day, You Will

  • Triage incoming emergency patients and prioritize care based on medical urgency.
  • Partner with veterinarians to perform patient assessments, diagnostics, treatments, and emergency procedures.
  • Place and maintain intravenous catheters and administer medications and IV fluid therapy.
  • Collect and process laboratory samples, including blood, urine, free fluid, and fine needle aspirates.
  • Perform and assist with diagnostic imaging, including radiography.
  • Administer, monitor, and recover patients undergoing sedation and anesthesia.
  • Monitor hospitalized emergency and ICU patients, recognizing and communicating changes in condition.
  • Calculate medication dosages, fluid rates, and treatment protocols accurately.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate electronic medical records.
  • Provide compassionate client communication and education throughout the patient's visit.
  • Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams.
  • Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture.

What You Bring

  • Minimum of two years of veterinary technician experience in progressive general practice or one year in a specialty or emergency hospital.
  • Strong knowledge of emergency nursing, patient assessment, anesthesia monitoring, and critical care.
  • Experience operating patient monitoring, laboratory, radiographic, and anesthetic equipment.
  • Excellent mathematical skills for calculating medication dosages, fluid rates, and treatment protocols.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm, adaptable, and professional in a fast-paced emergency environment.
  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care.
