We are currently seeking a Nephrology Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team!

General Overview:
We are looking for Internal Medicine focused technician(s) with a special interest in Nephrology & Urology to work full time with our growing Nephrology/Urology team.   • Boulder, CO
Compensation:
  • Registered Veterinary Technicians
    • $25 - $34/hr.  based on experience and skills assessment
  • Veterinary Technician Specialists
    • $35 - $40/hr. based on experience and skills assessment
Schedules Available:
  • Full Time
    • Tuesday – Friday
    • 7am – 5:30pm
    • 8am – 6:30pm
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Maintain proper medical records and prepare medical records for Criticalists.
  • Effectively communicate with clients, via phone, email, and in-person, regarding common Nephrology/Urology procedures.
  • Manage appointment and procedure schedules from intake to discharge.
  • Assist with surgical and endoscopy procedures as well as clean up and care of specialized surgical equipment.
  • Collaboration with the ICU teams for nephrology specific patient care.
  • Operate as a collaborative member of an innovative team.

Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) with at least 2 years of applicable experience
  • At least 1 year of experience within a specialty veterinary hospital preferred, preferably within the Internal Medicine department
  • Knowledge of basic veterinary practices, procedures and terminology
  • Safely handle, lift, and restrain dogs/cats; stand for extended periods
  • Prepare estimates, manage charges, and conduct client financial discussions
  • Perform venipuncture and place peripheral IV catheters using aseptic technique
  • Conduct ultrasound-guided cystocentesis, urinary catheterization (M/F), and monitor anesthesia/sedation (ASA 1–3)
  • Experience with flexible/rigid endoscope maintenance and endoscopy procedures (cystoscopy a plus; training available)
  • Basic surgical experience preferred (training provided)
  • Complete TPRs and patient histories for canine/feline patients
  • Administer medications via multiple routes; accurately calculate dosages, volumes, and CRIs
  • Manage prescriptions: fill, verify dosing, process refills, and coordinate with outside pharmacies
  • Communicate effectively with technicians, assistants, doctors, and staff
  • Detail-oriented multitasker with strong decision-making skills in fast-paced settings
  • Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus!
