Kennel Attendant – Vista Veterinary Specialists
Pay: $17–$20/hour | Full‑Time | Monday–Friday (5×8 schedule)

Vista Veterinary Specialists is a 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital providing advanced care in Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Radiology, and Cardiology. Our modern facility includes a full in‑house laboratory, digital radiography, ultrasonography, on‑site CT, and endoscopy, allowing our teams to deliver exceptional, compassionate care.

About the Role

The Kennel Attendant is an integral part of the hospital team, responsible for patient husbandry, facility support, and assistance to doctors, technicians, and veterinary assistants. This role ensures a clean, safe, and well‑organized environment while supporting both inpatient and outpatient care.

Schedule

  • Full‑Time
  • Monday – Friday
  • 5 days / 8‑hour shifts

Compensation

  • $17.00 – $20.00 per hour, based on experience and skill level

Key Responsibilities & Common Procedures

  • Assist veterinarians, technicians, and veterinary assistants with medical treatments and patient care for inpatients and outpatients
  • Provide safe animal handling and restraint, demonstrating comfort working with dogs and cats
  • Accurately transcribe and update patient documentation
  • Assist with radiographs as requested, using proper restraint techniques and PPE
  • Ensure the hospital remains fully stocked, including treatment areas and exam rooms
  • Maintain a clean and safe hospital environment, including treatment areas, exam rooms, lobby, restrooms, laundry, and outdoor spaces
  • Stock and maintain inpatient and treatment areas
  • Support overall hospital operations in a team‑focused, positive manner

Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
  • Ability to accurately follow written, oral, and diagram‑based instructions
  • Effective communicator with strong attention to detail
  • Basic customer service skills
  • Experience with animal handling and restraint, demonstrating confidence and care
  • Work history showing strong organization, time management, and accountability
  • Reliable, motivated, and eager to learn in a fast‑paced veterinary environment
