Veterinary Referral Center (VRC) is a comprehensive, referral specialty & emergency critical care veterinary hospital in Malvern, Pennsylvania. We are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for appointments, advanced imaging, surgery and emergency/critical care services. At our hospital, you'll be working alongside a large team of experienced & board-certified veterinarians with advanced specialized training who utilize the latest innovations in medicine and technology to treat companion animals. Our veterinary services include trauma treatment and critical care, medical oncology, radiation therapy oncology, cardiology, internal medicine, ophthalmology, orthopedic surgery, soft tissue surgery, dentistry/oral surgery, neurology and neurosurgery, MRI and CT, endoscopy, rehabilitation, and emergency services.
We are looking to add a skilled Rehabilitation Veterinary Technician. By joining VRC you will be supported by a team of excellent nurses and assistants along with experienced, board-certified veterinarians. We utilize the latest innovations in medicine and technology to treat companion animals on an emergency basis and/or long-term ailments.
Responsibilities:
Be an integral part of the patient care team and work closely with the veterinarians and other staff as needed for patient care
Be familiar with all treatment modalities
Remain current in animal rehabilitation services and therapies
Implement the prescribed treatment plans as prescribed by the veterinarian
Monitor patient response to prescribed therapies and inform the supervising veterinarian of any changes in patient status
Update patient records in a timely manner
Maintain treatment areas in accordance with hospital protocols
Participate in training and continuing education of staff as well as visiting interns and externs
Assist with client education in accordance with hospital protocols
Participate in public events where rehab can be promoted to clients, potential clients or referring veterinarians
Perform other duties as assigned

Preferred skills:
Be able to work both independently and as an integral part of a team
Be able to work with, restrain and lift companion animals of all sizes
Be able to communicate effectively with clients and other staff members
Experience as a veterinary technician or veterinary assistant
Be certified in canine massage or agree to pursue certification
Be proficient in low-stress handling- positive reinforcement is to be used with patients at all times
