Compensation & Work Schedule:

  • Hourly rate: Up to $35.00/hr (based on skills, qualifications, and experience)
  • Up to $2,000 Sign-On Bonus
  • Full-time, weekends and holiday flexibility required

About the Role: We are seeking a compassionate and skilled RVT to join our surgery team. If you are passionate about veterinary care and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide compassionate care to surgical patients.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, referring veterinarians, and team members.
  • Perform routine in-house laboratory procedures, including specimen collection, handling, and preparation according to hospital protocols.
  • Maintain accurate and professional medical records.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of medical treatments, including CRI setup/maintenance, NG tube placement, central line management, glucose curves, post-surgical care, and oxygen-dependent patient monitoring.
  • Assess patient ventilation, oxygenation, and acid/base status using pulse oximetry, capnography, and arterial blood gas results.
  • Assist with sedated procedures and post-operative care planning with surgeons.
  • Support pack/prep staff: surgical prep, instrument cleaning, autoclave and gas sterilizer operation, and inventory management.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the surgery department.
  • Deliver exemplary customer service while exercising critical thinking and teamwork.
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of surgical experience strongly preferred.
  • RVT licensure or equivalent preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to perform accurate mathematical calculations for medication dosages, CRIs, and client billing.
  • Must maintain California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP) within 60 days of hire if not already obtained with RVT licensure.
