Join our team as a Client Care Specialist and make a meaningful difference for pets and the people who love them.

At Veterinary Specialty Hospital of North County, our Client Care Specialists are an essential part of the veterinary care team. You'll be the calm, confident point of contact families rely on while partnering closely with our Emergency and Specialty teams to create a supportive, organized, and compassionate experience from arrival through discharge.

Get to Know Us

At Veterinary Specialty Hospital of North County, we're a team that shows up for each other as much as we do for our patients and their families. As part of Ethos Veterinary Health, we have access to advanced emergency and specialty resources while maintaining the personal, supportive, team-focused environment that makes our hospital a special place to work.

If you're looking for a veterinary hospital where collaboration, compassion, and professional growth matter, you'll feel right at home with us.

Why You'll Love This Role

As a Client Care Specialist, Veterinary Receptionist, or Veterinary Client Service Representative, you'll support families during routine visits as well as urgent and emotional situations.

You'll work closely with veterinarians, Veterinary Technicians, and other hospital teams while managing a fast-paced front desk, high call volumes, patient flow, financial transactions, and ongoing client communication.

In Your Day-to-Day, You Will

  • Welcome clients, check in patients, and coordinate appointments and emergency cases with the medical team.
  • Manage a high volume of incoming calls, callback requests, and client communications.
  • Keep clients informed throughout their pet's visit while coordinating updates with technicians and veterinarians.
  • Process check-outs, estimates, payments, and other financial transactions accurately.
  • Maintain accurate client and patient information within the hospital's practice management system.
  • Support families during urgent, stressful, and emotionally difficult situations with compassion and professionalism.
  • Complete follow-ups and post-visit tasks to ensure clients feel supported after leaving the hospital.
  • Collaborate across Emergency, Specialty, and Client Care teams to maintain efficient hospital and patient flow.

What You Bring

  • 2+ years of veterinary hospital experience required in General Practice, Emergency, or Specialty veterinary medicine.
  • Experience must include working within a veterinary hospital environment; animal handling experience alone does not meet this requirement.
  • Strong veterinary client service, reception, and communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, compassionately, and confidently with clients and veterinary professionals.
  • Strong organization and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced specialty and emergency veterinary environment.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional when supporting clients through urgent or emotional situations.
  • Proactive, collaborative approach to teamwork and client service.
