Some duties you will own in this role:
 
  • Triage and prioritize incoming patients
  • Stabilize patients in critical condition
  • Assist with diagnostic procedures
  • Administer medications and fluids
  • Provide wound care and post-surgical support
  • Monitor vital signs and report abnormalities
  • Assist during surgeries and emergency procedures
  • Communicate with pet owners
  • Maintain accurate medical records
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitization
  • Educate pet owners on aftercare
  • Collaborate with the veterinary team
  • Stay updated through continuing education
  • Offer compassion and emotional support to patients and owners.
 
Basic Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma
  • 2+ years of clinical experience in the veterinary industry RVT license highly preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interface with staff and clients using tact, patience, professional courtesy, and exhibit confidentiality and discretion where appropriate
  • Consistent and reliable ability to perform mathematical calculations for drug doses, CRIs, client invoices and estimates, and other position-related calculations
  • Maintain the California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP); must obtain within 60-days of hire or transfer into this role; (this requirement is waived if incumbent holds a valid CA-RVT license)
 
  • Compensation range $18.00 - $35.00 hourly plus differentials and overtime as needed. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
  • RVT or Senior Veterinary Assistant hiring bonus of up to $5,000 for new full-time employees
Our pay ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
