Why Join VERC

Working in Emergency & Critical Care means no two shifts are exactly the same. You'll use your technical skills, critical thinking, and nursing experience while continuing to build your confidence with complex cases.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to:

In Your Day-to-Day, You Will

  • Assist with triage, patient assessment, stabilization, and emergency procedures.
  • Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, sample collection, and in-house diagnostics.
  • Administer medications, IV fluids, CRIs, and prescribed treatments under veterinarian supervision.
  • Prepare patients for sedation and anesthesia and provide anesthetic monitoring and recovery support.
  • Assist with common and advanced Emergency & Critical Care nursing procedures.
  • Closely monitor hospitalized patients and promptly communicate changes in patient condition.
  • Maintain accurate treatment sheets and patient medical records.
  • Participate in patient rounds and communicate important information across shifts.
  • Collaborate with Emergency, Critical Care, and Specialty teams to provide exceptional patient care.

What You Bring

  • Previous veterinary hospital experience with strong hands-on technical skills.
  • Experience with veterinary anesthesia and anesthetic monitoring.
  • Strong patient assessment and nursing skills.

  • Ability to remain calm and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliability, attention to detail, and a commitment to exceptional patient care.
  • Interest in continuing to learn and grow within Emergency & Critical Care medicine.

You don't need to know everything on day one. If you're an experienced Veterinary Technician with strong foundational skills who wants to continue developing in Emergency & Critical Care, we encourage you to apply.
