Join Peak Veterinary Referral Center as our Hospital Learning & Development Veterinary Technician, where you'll combine your advanced technical skills with a passion for teaching and mentorship. This unique role is ideal for an experienced Veterinary Technician who enjoys developing others while continuing to work hands-on in a fast-paced specialty and emergency environment. You'll play an integral role in supporting the growth of our Veterinary Technicians, Veterinary Assistants, and support staff through clinical training, competency development, and education.

Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain clinical training programs for Veterinary Technicians, Veterinary Assistants, and support staff.
- Provide hands-on instruction, mentorship, and coaching to support clinical skill development.
- Conduct competency assessments and provide constructive feedback to ensure confidence and consistency in patient care.
- Identify knowledge gaps and develop targeted educational opportunities to strengthen technical skills.
- Facilitate hands-on clinical skills training and support onboarding for new technicians and assistants.
- Track and document training progress and competency completion.
- Assist with the development and standardization of technician protocols and clinical best practices.
- Partner with hospital leadership to support continuing education initiatives and staff development.
- Work alongside the clinical team, demonstrating advanced technical skills while serving as an educational resource.
- Prepare patients for advanced procedures, including orthopedic surgeries.
- Scrub into surgical procedures and assist veterinarians during advanced surgical cases.
- Safely operate and train others on advanced veterinary equipment and specialty instrumentation.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and clinical excellence.
Qualifications- Certified, Licensed, or Registered Veterinary Technician (CVT/RVT/LVT) required.
- Advanced clinical experience in specialty, emergency, or referral medicine preferred.
- Experience mentoring, coaching, or training fellow Veterinary Technicians or Veterinary Assistants strongly preferred.
- Strong technical proficiency, including anesthesia, surgical assistance, and advanced patient care.
- Experience assisting with orthopedic procedures and advanced surgical equipment preferred.
- Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for education, professional development, and helping others succeed.
- Fluent English speaking and reading skills required.
