In Your Day-to-Day, You Will

  • Provide advanced nursing care and continuous monitoring for critically ill hospitalized patients.
  • Administer medications, IV fluids, and continuous rate infusions (CRIs).
  • Perform in-house laboratory procedures and collect diagnostic samples.
  • Place and maintain intravenous (IV) catheters.
  • Conduct detailed patient rounds and communicate changes in patient condition.
  • Obtain temperature, pulse, respiration (TPR), blood pressure, and other vital parameters.
  • Safely handle and restrain fearful, anxious, or fractious patients.
  • Recognize changes in patient condition requiring immediate veterinary intervention.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough electronic medical records.
  • Advocate for patients while providing compassionate communication and support to clients.
  • Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams.
  • Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture.

What You Bring

  • Minimum of two years of experience as a Veterinary Technician in an animal hospital.
  • Previous ICU, Emergency, or Specialty experience strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency processing laboratory samples and performing in-house diagnostics.
  • Working knowledge of radiographic positioning and imaging techniques.
  • Strong technical skills, including IV catheter placement and advanced patient monitoring.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced specialty environment.
  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care.
