Florida Veterinary Referral Center (FVRC) is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Inventory Coordinator to join our growing specialty and emergency veterinary hospital team. This role is ideal for someone with inventory, purchasing, supply chain, warehouse, or medical supply experience who enjoys creating efficient systems, solving problems, and supporting exceptional patient care behind the scenes.

As our Inventory Coordinator, you'll play a vital role in ensuring every department has the supplies, equipment, and resources needed to deliver outstanding care to patients and clients. Compensation: $24 - $26/hr Based On Experience

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday, Minimum 40 hours per week, Occasional weekend or holiday hours as needed for inventory counts and operational support

What You'll Do:

Procurement & Inventory Management

  • Order medical and non-medical supplies through approved vendors
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels across all hospital departments
  • Monitor stock levels and proactively prevent shortages
  • Identify alternative vendors and products during supply chain disruptions
  • Communicate backorders and supply issues to hospital teams
  • Support equipment service and repair coordination
  • Monitor blood product inventory and manage replacement orders
  • Coordinate quarterly hospital inventory counts
  • Manage vendor returns and product credits
  • Oversee CUBEX inventory systems, training, and protocol updates
  • Support DEA compliance initiatives and controlled substance inventory management
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and reconcile records

Receiving, Stocking & Organization

  • Receive, inspect, and audit daily deliveries
  • Stock inventory throughout the hospital
  • Organize storage areas for maximum efficiency
  • Maintain clean, labeled, and well-organized inventory spaces
  • Track and communicate backordered items
  • Assist with inventory process training for hospital staff
  • Improve storage and supply workflows

Data, Reporting & Process Improvement

  • Perform daily inventory audits and cycle counts
  • Verify purchase orders and investigate discrepancies
  • Analyze inventory usage trends
  • Assist with inventory reporting and documentation
  • Support process improvements and operational efficiencies
  • Participate in regular meetings and inventory reviews
  • Pick up emergency supplies locally as needed (mileage reimbursement provided)

Relationship Management & Hospital Support

  • Maintain relationships with local veterinary hospitals and vendors
  • Track borrowed inventory and related invoicing
  • Coordinate packing materials for laboratory and perishable shipments
  • Assist with inventory workflow development and documentation
  • Support additional hospital initiatives as assigned

What We're Looking For:

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous inventory, purchasing, supply chain, warehouse, or stock management experience
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple responsibilities
  • Proficiency with computer systems and inventory software
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a healthcare environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate Degree or related education
  • Veterinary, medical, healthcare, or hospital inventory experience
  • Experience with EzyVet, SmartFlow, and/or CUBEX
  • Experience managing regulated inventory or controlled substances
  • Familiarity with inventory reporting and purchasing systems

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move inventory and supply shipments
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stock supplies throughout the workday
  • Ability to navigate a fast-paced hospital environment
