Port City Veterinary Referral Hospital is looking for a skilled, driven Veterinary Technician who wants to help support & elevate our Neurology department. Compensation & Schedule

• $22–$35/hour (based on licensure, experience, and skills assessment)
• Four 9-10 hour shifts
• Flexible scheduling that supports patient care

• Annual Uniform Allowance
• Annual CE Allowance: Starting at $800 for licensed technicians and incremental increases based on total years credentialed.

• Collaborate closely with specialists in a highly supportive, team-driven environment
• Grow your skills in advanced imaging, anesthesia, and surgical support

• Assisting doctors during appointments with strong client communication and education
• Patient preparation, recovery, and advocacy throughout their care journey
• Venipuncture, IV catheter placement, medication calculations, and administration
• Maintaining accurate, detailed medical and anesthetic records
• Ensuring equipment readiness and understanding its application and availability
• Advanced anesthesia monitoring for procedures such as CT and MRI
• Performing sterile scrubs and assisting during surgical procedures
• Epidural administration and advanced technical nursing care
• Supporting patients with compassion, precision, and clinical excellence

• Credentialed Veterinary Nurse/Technician in good standing
• Veterinary Technician Specialty (VTS) certification is a plus.
• Students currently enrolled in an accredited veterinary technology program and on track for credentialing are also encouraged to apply.
• 1-3 years working as a Veterinary Nurse/Technician in a clinical hospital setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. 
• Proficient in medical record-keeping and documentation. 
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment. 
• Exceptional problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. 

• Brings an in-depth understanding and application of veterinary procedures, regulations, and policies, and the ability to stay updated on advancements in the field.
• Thrives in a collaborative environment where excellence patient care is the standard.
• Values a positive, respectful workplace culture and communicates clearly and professionally with both clients and team members through strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrates a passion for continuous learning and professional growth, actively seeking mentorship and ongoing education to remain current with advances in veterinary medicine and best practices.
• Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role.
