Three 12-hour shifts
Swing shift 12pm - 12am
Weekends and holidays as needed

Veterinary Assistant Responsibilities
Properly restrain animals
Obtain a thorough history from pet owner
Accurately measure and record each patient's weight and basic vitals (temp, pulse rate, and respiratory rate)
Assist in anesthesia induction and patient prep for surgical procedures
Clean and prep surgical packs and supplies
Efficiently set up, turn over and break down OR and prep areas
Understand triage and follow hospital policies regarding critical patients.
Using aseptic procedures, draw up injections for doctors or technicians to administer
Properly package and store samples as needed
Assist with routine exam room procedures
Monitor patients' behavior
Maintain a positive attitude, work well and collaboratively as a team. be able to work well under pressure
Ability to multitask and produce efficiently under a heavy workload
Assist in maintaining inventory and alert supervisor of items that are running low
Maintain adequate interdepartmental communications regarding patient care and client issues
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience working with animals, preferably in an emergency and specialty hospital
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced veterinary environment
