As part of our continued growth, we’re looking to add a dedicated Surgery Supervisor to lead and support our surgical team. We're seeking highly skilled, self-motivated, and team-oriented professionals who are passionate about delivering exceptional care in advanced veterinary medicine
Overview:
The Surgery Supervisor is a highly skilled and educated veterinary technician who demonstrates leadership qualities, technical expertise, and excellent interpersonal communication skills. This role requires maintaining a calm and proactive approach in high-pressure situations, fostering a positive work environment, and ensuring the delivery of top-tier care to patients. The Surgery Supervisor manages a balance between technical and managerial responsibilities, oversees departmental staff, and drives the growth and efficiency of the surgery department.
Compensation:
- $30-$34 hourly, based on experience
Anticipated Schedule:
- Flexible Days
- 4x10 hour shifts
- Weekends may be required
Responsibilities:
- Leadership: Represent the Surgery technical staff (20+ team members), fostering a professional work environment, mediating conflicts, and supporting team dynamics.
- Supervision and Management: Oversee staff performance, manage hiring and training, monitor progress, assign tasks, and ensure equitable workload distribution.
- Training and Development: Design and maintain training programs, implement new protocols, and facilitate professional growth through reviews and goal-setting.
- Communication and Coordination: Conduct departmental meetings, engage with doctors for feedback, and hold regular sessions with shift leads to address challenges and improve leadership.
- Technical Support: Provide technical assistance and manage primary Surgery cases as needed.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Staff Scheduling: Develop schedules and ensure adequate coverage during absences and holidays.
- Policy Compliance: Enforce hospital policies and regularly update standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Continuing Education: Collaborate with the Education Department to provide ongoing staff training.
- Interdepartmental Collaboration: Ensure clear communication across departments and assist with hospital-wide scheduling tasks.
Requirements:
- Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVT) or experienced Veterinary Assistants with at least 3 years of experience, dedicated to providing outstanding client service and excellent patient care.
- Prior experience as a lead technician/ supervisor.

- Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus!
