Veterinary Receptionist – Per Diem

$18.00–$22.00/hour DOE

Looking for a flexible veterinary customer service opportunity?

VERC is seeking a friendly, organized Veterinary Receptionist to support our front desk and Client Care team on a per diem basis. You'll be one of the first people clients meet when they arrive, helping with check-in, scheduling, payments, records, phone calls, and other day-to-day reception needs in our busy Emergency & Specialty hospital.

This is a casual position requiring a minimum of two shifts per month.

What You Bring

  • Previous customer service experience required.
  • Veterinary receptionist, animal hospital, medical reception, or healthcare experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable answering phones and assisting clients in person.
  • Strong computer and data-entry skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy reception environment.
  • Confidence handling payments and basic financial transactions.
  • Compassionate, professional approach when working with pet owners.
  • Dependable and able to meet the minimum per diem commitment of two shifts per month.

In Your Day-to-Day, You Will

  • Greet clients and check patients in and out of the hospital.
  • Answer incoming calls and direct questions to the appropriate team member.
  • Schedule appointments and assist with incoming Emergency and Specialty visits.
  • Create and update client and patient accounts and medical records.
  • Obtain referring veterinarian information and help coordinate medical records.
  • Process admissions, discharges, invoices, and client payments.
  • Maintain accurate electronic records and documentation.
  • Assist with scanning, emailing, filing, and other front desk administrative tasks.
  • Help keep the reception and client-facing areas organized and welcoming.
  • Partner with Client Care, Veterinary Technicians, Veterinarians, and hospital teams to keep the front desk running smoothly.

Pay & Per Diem Schedule
