Veterinary Specialty Hospital – North County (VSHNC) is seeking a Radiology Assistant to join our 24/7 Emergency & Specialty Hospital in San Marcos, California. This position supports advanced diagnostic imaging services and collaborates closely with board-certified specialists, veterinarians, and nursing staff to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced specialty environment.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assist with diagnostic imaging procedures, including radiography and advanced imaging support
  • Safely handle, position, and restrain patients for imaging studies
  • Prepare imaging rooms, equipment, and patients according to hospital protocols
  • Maintain radiation safety standards and compliance
  • Communicate effectively with veterinarians, specialists, and nursing teams
  • Ensure accurate patient identification and documentation
  • Support workflow efficiency within the imaging department
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant imaging environment

Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a Veterinary Assistant preferred
  • Interest or experience in diagnostic imaging and radiology strongly preferred
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, specialty hospital environment
  • Strong attention to detail and patient safety
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to lift and restrain patients as required
  • Willingness to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed

Compensation

  • Veterinary Assistant pay range: $16.30 – $26.00 per hour
    . Compensation is based on education, experience, credentialing, and shift differentials.
