We are seeking a visionary and dynamic Hospital Director of Operations (HD) to lead one of our flagship veterinary hospitals with the insight and strategic mindset of a Chief Financial Officer. Responsible for overseeing a $60M+ P&L, this individual will drive operational excellence, inspire teams, and ensure long-term financial sustainability at a large, multi-specialty veterinary hospital. - Serve as the hospital’s financial steward—overseeing budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and cost-efficiency initiatives.

- Lead scenario planning to navigate ambiguity and ensure sustainable growth within the hospital.
- Champion innovation by implementing scalable, cutting-edge operational strategies across the hospital.
- Optimize workflow efficiency and drive data-informed performance improvements.
- Accountable for driving exceptional client and patient experiences by leading management teams and staff to consistently deliver high-quality care and service, thereby enhancing organizational reputation and ensuring positive patient outcomes.
- Continuously challenge the status quo to deliver breakthrough results in a complex hospital setting.
- Build meaningful, cross-functional partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including hospital teams, referring veterinarians, support center colleagues, clients, and community leaders.
- Model inclusive, transparent, and open communication across all levels of the hospital and broader organization.
- Balance multiple priorities with empathy, curiosity, and strategic foresight.
- Cultivate a high-performing hospital leadership team by mentoring, coaching, and developing others to reach their full potential.

Qualifications
- Education: Advanced degree is strongly preferred; MHA/MBA.
- Experience: 10+ years of senior leadership experience in large healthcare systems or multi-site big box retail.
- Skills: Deep expertise in financial management, enterprise-level strategic planning, complex team leadership, and operational excellence; paired with a forward-thinking approach to innovation and organizational growth.
- Ideal Background: Proven track record of leading complex hospital operations, developing and executing talent strategies, and fostering a culture of engagement and accountability—driving cross-functional collaboration and delivering sustained EBITDA growth and operational excellence in high-performing environments and those undergoing transformation / in need of renewed strategy.
