GENERAL PURPOSE:
A Referral coordinator for Service Center thrives in a fast-paced environment and plays a crucial role with all the hospitals we serve. The primary responsibility of a Referral Coordinator is to manage the process of referrals for patients or clients, ensuring a smooth transition between different care providers or services.
Essential Job Functions:
The Referral Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating the referral process for patients or clients, ensuring timely and efficient access to necessary services. This role involves communication with veterinary care providers, insurance companies, and other relevant parties to facilitate a seamless referral experience.
- Receive and review referral requests from healthcare providers or internal departments.
- Verify and gather necessary patient information to facilitate the referral process.
- Ensure that all required documentation is complete and accurate.
- Coordinate communication between referring and receiving healthcare providers.
- Keep all relevant parties informed about the status and progress of referrals.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of all referrals and related communications.
- Ensure compliance with privacy regulations and standards in handling patient information.
- Understanding of basic veterinary medicine terminology.
- Deescalate client complaints and concerns, escalating issues to Hospital Manager, as needed
- Handle all RVet link request
- Merge duplicate accounts to ensure accuracy
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in veterinary healthcare administration is a plus.
- Proven experience in veterinary healthcare administration, medical office management, or a related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Proficient in using relevant computer software and electronic health records.
- Knowledge of veterinary environment, terminology, and protocols
- Customer Service Experience
- Must be flexible with scheduling and able to work some weekends and holidays.
