WHO ARE WE? NVS is a 24/7 veterinary specialty and emergency hospital. We are in a recently expanded 24,000 square foot hospital with digital radiography, computed tomography (CT), on-site magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, endoscopy, access to an on-site commercial laboratory, and more. Our primary focus is to honor the human-animal bond in all we do, focusing on patient care, client experience, and the health of our team. Job Responsibilities:
* Perform/Assist with Procedures/Diagnostics for ECC patients
* Blood work, radiographs, ECGs, fill out ultrasound requests
* Transcribe results in MRE and on treatment sheet (PCV/TS, BPs, BGs, etc.)
* Run sedation/anesthesia for ECC patients - wound management, bandage changes, etc.
* Sole technician for any ventilator/table patients with hourly/Q 30 minute monitoring/recording
* Set up for common procedures when necessary - thoracocentesis, pericardiocentesis, abdominocentesis, chest tube placement, etc.
* Place nasogastric tubes, central lines, arterial catheters
* Call Clients with patient updates in morning (as needed/directed), document in EzyVet
* Take Client inquiry phone calls (discharged ECC patients)
* Call in medications/prescriptions for ECC clients
* Complete patient discharges as needed
* Text photos to client as directed
* Follow-up call to owner following discharge to see how patient is doing/answer any questions
* Perform TPR’s on ECC patient’s daily, round results to Criticalist
* Write/highlight treatment sheets
* Assist ICU with CRITICAL ECC patients, as directed by Criticalist (not responsible for primary care unless directed)
* Fill ECC patients medications
* Start/prepare/help with finalization of Discharge Instructions as directed by Criticalist
* Discharge ECC patients as needed/directed
* Take RDVM or transfer calls for Criticalist when not available
* Serve as internal liaison for CSR’s, other departments, consults, etc.
* Communicate with Med Records Coordinators about discharges, and pertinent record information

Qualifications:
* LVMT, CVT, LVT, RVT, or VTS licensure and at least 3+ years of veterinary hospital experience; Must have emergency critical care experience. (preferred)
* Must have a reasonably in-depth understanding of veterinary medicine and basic disease processes
* Must have broad technical abilities
* Must have exemplary customer services skills
* Adaptable to work with different departments and people regularly
* Possesses a calm demeanor in stressful situations and high emotional intelligence
* Proactive in identifying the needs of each specialty department on a daily, weekly basis

Anticipated Schedule:
  • Three 12-hour shifts
  • Daytime and Overnight are the shifts we hire for
Compensation:
  • $21-48 per hour, depending on experience
  • $4.50 overnight and weekend shift differential available
