Veterinary Technician Assistant - Cardiology

Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital (Mass Vet) is looking to add a full-time Cardiology Technician to its busy team in Woburn, Massachusetts.

Shifts: This is 36-40 hour position and will be working rotating weeks of Mon-Thur or Tues- Friday.

About the Job:  As a Vet Tech in the Cardiology department you will be responsible for:

  • Perform anesthetic monitoring including intubation/extubation of patients, monitoring vitals, and troubleshooting of machines
  • Obtain and prepare various blood samples for diagnostic testing
  • Accurately take and process multiple types of radiographs
  • Participate in procedures, including pacemakers, patient ductus arteriosus (PDA), and heartworm extraction.
  • Assist during echocardiogram procedures
  • Provide comfort, diagnostic, surgical, and nursing care to all patients
  • Provide extensive client education on common cardiac diseases (i.e. heart failure, mitral valve disease, heart arrhythmias, and congenital heart disease).

About You: Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a veterinary hospital setting as a Technician required. Recent graduates with an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Technology will be considered.

  • Experience with anesthesia preferred but not required
  • Highly empathetic and great hospitality abilities to deal with stressful and sometimes sad cases with owners.
