Veterinary Technician - Emergency & Client Care Representative

Veterinary Specialty Hospital (VSH) is looking full-time Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency and Client Care team.

About the Job:  As a Vet Tech in the Emergency and Client Care team you will be responsible to:

  • Responsible for assisting specialist in triaging, admitting, and processing patients
  • Perform anesthetic monitoring including intubation/extubation of patients, monitoring vitals, troubleshooting of machines and occasional surgical assisting
  • Obtain and prepare various blood samples for diagnostic testing
  • Accurately take and process multiple types of radiographs
  • Participate in endoscopic procedures, including obtaining biopsy specimens and maintaining equipment
  • Provide client education on common internal medicine diseases (i.e. immune mediated diseases, kidney disease and failure, diabetes, and cushings).
  • Accurately enter new clients, patients, and update existing information
  • Answer all incoming calls and handle all client requests in a timely manner
  • Schedule appointments, handle routine inquiries, and collect deposits and payments over the phone
  • Answer multiple phone lines in a prompt and professional manner, direct calls, fax and scan

Shift Info: Monday – Thursday 4:00pm – 2:30am (1 Saturday per month & on call 1 per rotation)

About You:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a veterinary hospital setting required. Recent graduates with an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Technology will be considered.
  • Comprehensive understand and experience with anesthetic monitoring is required
  • Proficiency in processing basic laboratory specimens and working knowledge of radiographic techniques is required
  • CVT, RVT, LVT, or VTS preferred
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community is required.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills are required, and the ability to deliver exceptional client service is expected.
