Veterinary Specialty Hospitals (VSH), part of Ethos Veterinary Health, is looking for an experienced Human Resources Manager to support our two 24/7 Emergency and Specialty hospitals in San Diego and San Marcos, California.
About the Role: As the HR Manager you will be a highly visible and important member of the VSH leadership team responsible for providing strategic input and tactical support to achieve the business’ short and long term goals. You will provide expertise in policy interpretation, benefits, employee engagement, compensation, training, compliance, recruitment of exempt and non-exempt employees, and coaching and advising managers in employee relations matters. You will also manage one People & Organization Practice Partner (POPP)/HR Generalist.
About You: The Human Resources Manager will have proven HR generalist experience (10+ years), strong communication skills, and be detail oriented with an ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. You will also possess sound analytical and problem solving skills, and have outstanding coaching and communication skills. You will foster strong relationships with managers and staff based on mutual trust, respect, and integrity, and help instill consistent company-wide best practices while maintaining the unique feel and characteristics of a local hospital culture. A successful candidate will also have a strong, dedicated, work ethic, be highly collaborative, enthusiastic, and engaged, and be someone who can provide confident support while remaining sensitive to local concerns about change. You must be approachable, accessible, accountable, and responsive.
